The PHYSIO ON THE GO movement philosophy is based upon the fact that our bodies are elegantly designed to move in multiple planes of motion much like a chain reaction--when one portion of our body moves, that motion creates a chain reaction that affects how all the surrounding portions move, both upstream and downstream.
We break this phenomenon into 2 components: 1) LOCAL movements and 2) GLOBAL movements. LOCAL movement refers to motion in the specific muscles/joints we are attempting to identify, bias or, in laymen's terms (and also incorrectly described by many movement practitioners), "isolate." GLOBAL movement refers to the overall movement pattern or chain reaction that is happening either upstream or downstream.
Additionally, we can use these GLOBAL movements to create or enhance a LOCAL movement that is dysfunctional...and vice versa depending on the nature of the movement dysfunction. We utilize this method based on the principles, strategies, and techniques of Applied Functional Science (AFS).
